Nutritional psychiatry is a new field within psychiatry focused on the mental health impact of food. In this episode, we continue our conversation with Dr. Drew Ramsey, MD, clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. We focus on Dr. Ramsey’s “Compleater Principles” as described in his book Eat Complete. We also discuss Dr. Ramsey’s recommended nutrients for optimal brain health, including omega-3 fats, zinc, B-vitamins and more. Dr. Ramsey also explains his fondness for kale and what inspired him to write his second book, 50 Shades of Kale.
